simulation film
Synonyms: sim film
Definition: A type of x-ray, it is taken by the radiation therapist on the first day of treatment. These are not diagnostic but are used only to verify the patient's position during treatments, to maintain precision in the treatment. Additionally, a portal film is taken (often at the start and then each week) to compare and ensure the body position to the simulation film.
