radical perineal prostatectomy

Abbreviations: RPP

Definition: drawing showing where the incision is made (peh-rih-NEE-al) Where the prostate gland is removed through an incision made in the perineum, between the scrotum and the anus. (See drawing.)

When it is removed through an incision in the abdomen, it is a radical retropubic prostatectomy.
