Definition: Fibrous (FI-brus) is resembling fibers or full of sinews, as found in tendons. Fibrosis (fi-BRO-sis) is the growth or formation of excessive fibrous tissue. A fibroma (fi-BRO-ma) is a benign, usually enclosed neoplasm composed primarily of fibrous tissue. See Peyronie's disease.
