A personal experience:

MY DOC PRESCRIBED A VED

[written 12/4/00]

I was diagnosed in April of '97 and was operated on at UCSF by Dr. Joseph Presti, now with Stanford Medical, on 7/7/97. I was 54 years old. I didn't start to use the pump until I had talked to Dr. Tom Lue of UCSF, he is one of the doctors who helped with the original research on Viagra and other research into speeding up nerve regeneration after damage. He gave me a prescription for the VED, (Vacuum Erection Device) that way I could use my medical insurance to pay for it and purchased it a the drug store.

He is also the person who gave me the information about using it as an exercise tool to help reduce shrinkage. No one told me about shrinkage, I learned about it through the Circle and then took the question to my Onco. who discussed it with me

Don't rush into using the pump until your doctor gives you a go-ahead.

Health, Healing and Happiness,
Ron

[Ron added the following in an email to P5, when okay was obtained to use all names.]

One thing that I forgot to mention in that posting was that the exercises were to be done without the restriction rings and for only about ten (10) minutes a day.

Health, Healing and Happiness,
Ron
