Me & Mac

Everyone likes to get a face with the words, so here is a photo of me (Robert Vaughn Young) and Mac, taken circa July 1998 at a rest stop in Kansas.

Mac was rescued from a Seattle-area shelter in the summer of 1997 so I don't know his age or history. But he is incredibly smart, loyal, has a great sense of humor and loves to travel.

In Memphis a year before this photo, a woman came up and said, "Oh, you have a Belgian Malinois," and I said, "A what?" She rattled off some of the behavioral characteristics and, yeah, Mac had them all. Later, I looked the breed up on the Web and he doesn't have the ears so I just tell people he's a Belgian shepherd. He likes the sound of that and I don't have to spell "Malinois."
