Anatole Broyard

Anatole Broyard grew up in Brooklyn and attended the New School for Social Research. After serving in World War II, he taught fiction writing at New York University and Columbia. Broyard was an editor, literary critic, and essayist for The New York Times for forty years. His writings include Aroused by Books and Men, Women, and Other Anticlimaxes.
About the editor:
Alexandra Broyard has held positions at the Yale Psychiatric Institute and the Connecticut Mental Health Center in New Haven. She presently practices psychotherapy in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
